It’s nearly summer – so what better time than now to spring clean and freshen up ready for the warmer months? In today’s blog we share five key interior design trends to try for summer 2018 so you can refresh and revive your home ready for the sunshine season.
Ice cream pastel shades
‘Tissue pink’ was the hue du jour last year – dubbed ‘millennial pink’ thanks to its popularity amongst younger generations. In 2018 the palette expands to include a beautiful range of equally soft shades including pistachio green, pale violet, creamy yellow and peach.
Pretty plants
It’s foliage, foliage and more foliage this year as plants become popular once again. Lush greenery can be placed in pots around the home, or in macramé hangers and wall baskets for a boho feel. Plants also have multiple health benefits to offer as they pump oxygen into the air around them – so the more the merrier.
Totally tropical accessories
Tropical screams summer – and it’s well and truly in for 2018. Think bright colours, bold prints and jungle-inspired wallpapers, upholstery and accessories. Playful, pretty – your interpretation of the tropical theme can be minimalistic or all-out.
Indigo blue
Indigo blue is named after the plant used as a dye resulting in deep, bewitching colour. Stunning Indigo is on trend for summer 2018 – offering a stark contrast to whimsical pastel tones. This inky blue is best incorporated in small doses via sparkling glassware and vases, cushions and throws.
Ombre style
Ombre means ‘to shade’ – often featuring soft tones blending seamlessly into one another. This gentle watercolour style lends itself perfectly to co-ordinates such as soft furnishings, bedding and more. Choose complementary colours and neutrals like rust, violet, beige and teal.
